New management support pack for people with diabetes

Roche Diagnostics, in co-operation with the UK Association for Diabetes Specialist Nurses (UKADSN), is launching a new information pack to support people with diabetes. The pack aims to ensure patients are aware of all information and resources available to support self- monitoring of blood glucose.

The pack has been developed in response to a growing number of concerns from patients who are experiencing difficulty in accessing blood glucose testing strips. These patients feel that this is affecting their ability to manage their diabetes effectively. This is supported by the UK Association of Diabetes Specialist Nurses, who have expressed growing concerns about the reduction in strip availability for people with diabetes. The association's Chair, Phyllis Bushby said, "We are worried about some of the feedback we have been getting regarding restrictions on blood glucose test strips. It is vitally important that people with diabetes who need to self-monitor are able to do so in order to help them make the best choices about their lifestyle and medication".

The pack is the latest in a series of support materials developed by Roche Diagnostics aimed at helping people with diabetes manage their condition.
